Primary Round-up - March 2024

In March's Primary Round-up we’re thinking about those teachers who are preparing their pupils for end-of-year assessments and onward transition, and we show how you can make the most of our resources for next term:

  • Multiplying and dividing fractions in Year 6 - it's all too easy to whizz through this concept, relying on procedures and tricks. Our PD Materials support real understanding and prepare pupils for KS3 learning
  • Using the Curriculum Prioritisation Materials - for more ways to use the Primary Curriculum Prioritisation Materials, watch our video
  • Simplifying fractions in Year 5 or Year 6 - our Year 6 ready-to-progress criteria slides could be used at the end of Year 5 to assess learning or in Year 6 as a pre-teaching or intervention resource
  • Ways to teach using ready-to-progress slides - our video explains how teachers might use the ready-to-progress criteria slides in the classroom
  • Getting to grips with percentages in Y6 - percentages can be tricky to teach. Our resources ensure children have essential conceptual understanding, delivered in small steps of learning
  • Quotitive and partitive division in Y2 - do your Year 2 pupils understand the difference between quotitive and partitive division? This essential concept paves the way for learning in KS2 and beyond.
