The NCETM awarded a grant of £6,000 to Failsworth School. The project started in September 2007 for the duration of 1 Year and is led by Damian Griffiths. 

This research project is designed to explore the efficacy of Cooperative Learning approaches in KS3 mathematics lessons.

CETL-MSOR Conference 2008 (Continuing Excellence in the Teaching & Learning of MAths, Stats & OR) - Shaping the Future of Maths & Stats in Higher Education
The aim of this Conference is to promote, explore and disseminate emerging good practice and research findings in Mathematics and Statistics support, teaching, learning and assessment.  The conference is taking place on 8th & 9th September 2008 at Lancaster University.

The 1st Secondary Mathematics Conference for KS3 & 4 teachers was organised by the MA and NCETM and took place on Friday 22nd February 2008 in York.
  Susan Wall Workshop - Manchester
Susan ran an enjoyable and inspirational workshop in Manchester on 8th April 2008.
Cheadle Hulme High School: Case Study
Following the GM7 conference various teachers carried out follow up work, read a case study by Angela Norbury at Cheadle Hulme High School.

Mathematics Development Programme for Teachers 08/09
The Universities of Brighton, Liverpool Hope and Wolverhampton are piloting continuing professional development (CPD) courses aimed at mathematics teachers who are not specialists in the subject.  The second year of the pilot starts in June/July 2008 and recruitment is now underway.
