RECME - Researching Effective CPD in Mathematics Education

RECME is a research project commissioned by the NCETM which investigates CPD for teachers of mathematics in England. The aims of the project are guided by questions relating to specific ongoing CPD initiatives.

The overarching aim of the RECME project is to investigate the interrelated factors that contribute to ‘effective’ CPD for teachers of mathematics.

The project (which began in April 2007 and is planned to continue until March 2009), has four phases. Click on each phase to find out more:

Meet the Research Team
The RECME project is directed by Dr Els De Geest and has a team of four other researchers and an administrator.
The RECME Research Process
We are guided by a number of research questions. To address these, we have developed, and are developing, research instruments and analytical tools.
