I teach in an AP school.  I would like to know if anyone can suggest any Resources for KS4 students who are at Primary level? Ideas on text books and intervention programmes would be great.  Thanks in advance.

Jen

I am the lead trainer for a personalised intervention programme written for Y7 students who are not 'secondary school ready' in mathematics.  The course is degisned to help the students master key components of the primary curriculum, enabling students to progress in the KS3/KS4 curriculum.

If you are interested drop me an email pip@accomplisheducation.com and I will arrange for you to have access to the programme and we can discuss further if it matches your needs.

Pip

Hi. Have you looked at the ATM resources? There are many that cross KS2/3 and they're not expensive at around £20; for eg: Talking Maths https://www.atm.org.uk/Maths-Book-Reviews/talking-maths/112138 , Geometry and Algebra games https://www.atm.org.uk/Maths-Book-Reviews/geometry-games/67743 , Cuisenaire from early years to adult: https://www.atm.org.uk/Shop/New-for-2017/Cuisenaire---from-Early-Years-to-Adult-Book-and-Download/Cuisenaire---from-Early-Years-to-Adult/ACT103pk  as well as quite a few that approach KS2 content in a different way: eg Pick n Mix https://www.atm.org.uk/Shop/Pick-and-Mix-Mathematical-Challenges-for-a-KS2-Classroom-Book-and-Download/ACT105pk  I hope these help. (ps not sure what an AP school is?)

Hello Jen,

Whereabouts are you? You might want to investigate the Every Child Counts intervention programmes which have been used very successfully with secondary age pupils who need support with maths - Success@Arithmetic:Number Sense and Success@Arithmetic:Calculation are probably the most appropriate. Let me know if you want to know anymore about this. Have a look at the website here https://everychildcounts.edgehill.ac.uk/ . There are training opportunities all over the country.
