(Another) University project - Perceptions of maths mastery

tallulahjayne 02 March 2018 16:36

Hi everyone

I hope it is ok to post this.

I am writing a dissertation about maths mastery methods and need your help. Could you spare about 5 mins to complete this short (anonymous) survey aimed at gathering opinions from teachers about this, please?

Teaching for mastery is a current focus of several studies of maths teaching, however, the main focus of the studies I’ve found has been on primary schools. Given the recent shift in focus of GCSE maths exams to incorporate problem-solving approaches, I feel it is important to consider the professional opinions of teachers and explore how teaching for mastery might be implemented in the secondary stages of maths.

The results of this study will be presented in my dissertation and reported back to the University of Sunderland. All reference in the final report to opinions given by participants will be anonymised.

Thank you for taking the time to read this - the survey is here:
