Deep Dive Mathematics OFSTED Inspection

robo0123 23 February 2020 20:04

This half term I wrote a blog to share my experience of going through the deep dive OFSTED inspection as Head of Mathematics. This was a full day deep dive which formed part of a whole school real inspection. The day involved a hour long interview, two learning walks, a book look and student panel.

Having been through this twice now, a trial inspection last June and the real one this February I wanted to share my experiences with maths teachers and subject leaders.

Thank you

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice Jonathan. I'm a Primary Maths Consultant so your piece is both informative and helpful in understanding how secondary schools' 'deep dives' compare with primary. Lots of 'food for thought' regarding Ofsted's impact upon well-being too. The reference to not having time to eat or drink is an aspect the current regime needs to reflect carefully on (amongst others).
