BA (Hons) Primary Education with Mathematics Specialism (QTS)


NCETM CPD Standard

This programme aims to support you in achieving the standards to be a qualified teacher, with a focus on primary mathematics. It is specifically for students who enjoy learning mathematics and want to teach children to understand and be fascinated by the subject.

The course will enable you to be a generalist primary class teacher and prepare you for a later role as a  a specialist teacher of primary mathematics leading mathematics across the school. You will study primary mathematics in depth, exploring the most effective ways of teaching mathematical ideas. You will also gain a strong understanding and experience of teaching other subjects. 

The programme will help you to develop a deep understanding of  how children learn. You will explore current initiatives and their impact on classroom practices. You will be supported in your own learning to become a creative and flexible practitioner prepared to make a positive impact on children’s lives and meet the needs of the primary schools of the future.
