Teaching mathematics in the middle years.

Teaching mathematics is a free online Open University course, consisting of 24 hours study, which has been written for non-specialist mathematics teachers and draws on the established provision of mathematics education at the Open University. This course aims to develop your understanding of the mathematical content covered in the middle school years and effective strategies and approaches to the teaching and learning of this content. Through your studies you will begin to understand how children in this age group learn mathematics and the common misconceptions which they may experience.

Enrolling on the course will give you the opportunity to earn an Open University digital badge. Badges are not accredited by The Open University but they're a great way to demonstrate your interest in the subject and commitment to your career, and to provide evidence of continuing professional development.
