  • Are you looking to develop your subject knowledge, skills and understanding?
  • Do you want to feel more confident in knowing what you know?
  • Do you just enjoy doing mathematical questions and quizzes to pass time?

You may find audits useful in helping you choose the right CPD for you

Mathematical Attainment Tests

This audit was produced in 2000 by the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching.  The intention was to provide users with a way of assessing their own mathematical ability using mathematics from national curriculum level 5 and above. The user can generate a random test or select a five-digit number for a specific test. (This allows them to take the same test repeatedly.) During the test, common wrong answers entered by the user are recognised and appropriate advice is given on how the mistake appears to have been made.

At the end of the test the user is given a graphical breakdown of how they have performed in each of the main mathematical subject areas.

Audit for Primary PGCE students

These eight audits were produced between 2001 and 2003 by the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching to help Primary PGCE students become aware of areas of mathematical knowledge which they would need to improve on to meet the requirements set by the Teacher Development Agency.

Each audit is randomly generated, and provides feedback after the test about the areas in which the student scored particularly well or badly.

In order to view these audits, select 'Interactive Resources', then 'Primary PGCE Audits'

Audits for teachers of A level

These audits developed by the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching focus on A-Level subject knowledge in each of three aspects: Pure mathematics, statistics or mechanics:

 Pure Maths

 Statistics

 Mechanics

Functional Mathematics Audit

A newly developed audit designed to cover mathematical knowledge from Entry Level up to and including Level 2 (the mathematics covered at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4).

Performance on the initial questions using mathematics from entry level 3, national curriculum level 3, determines the route the audit takes.

At the end of the audit the user is given a graphical breakdown of how they have performed in each of the main mathematical subject areas.
