Mathematics Mastery is a professional development programme for teachers. Working in partnership with schools to embed a mastery approach to maths teaching, we aim to improve attainment, enjoyment and confidence in mathematics.
Our approach is rooted in robust research and internationally recognised methods particularly drawing on evidence from Singapore and Shanghai. The programme has three core elements; strategic and practical training for teachers and senior leaders, the development of curriculum resources for the classroom, and ongoing opportunities for collaboration to maximise effectiveness. The approach is underpinned by key principles including high expectations for every child and 'depth before breadth', with an emphasis on problem-solving and conceptual understanding.
