Registration and user accounts

How do I register with the NCETM?

Click Sign in / Register on the top right-hand side of our homepage, complete the short online form and click the blue submit button. Shortly afterwards an automated email message will be sent to you asking you to confirm your registration - click the link in this message to activate your user account.

If you do not receive an email message, it may be caught in your computer's 'junk mail' or 'spam' folder. If you still can't see the message, please contact us and we'll activate your account for you.

When I try to register, my school's details aren't displayed

Our schools database is linked to the Department for Education's Get information about schools service (previously Edubase), which we aren’t able to alter. However, if you enter the school’s postcode (including the space), you should find that your school is listed.

I've forgotten my password: how can I get a reminder?

General

Is the NCETM able to help with my organisation's CPD needs?

The NCETM aims to ensure that all teachers of mathematics have easy access to high quality maths-specific continuing professional development (CPD) throughout their teaching careers.

The NCETM CPD Advisory and Support Service (NCASS) responds to requests for guidance about and recommendations of resources, together with queries about courses, events, and other CPD activities. We’re also offering assistance to CPD providers, and to those who are seeking to get involved with a Maths Hub.

Of course, much of this is already available on the NCETM website – in particular, in our Guidance pages, which play an important role in pointing our users to resources to assist their teaching. But in our suite of NCASS pages, you’ll find a number of pointers towards appropriate resources, CPD opportunities, research, and help in identifying your own professional development needs and those of your school or college.

In addition, the service can help your organisation facilitate or deliver CPD activities, either by directly providing a CPD solution, or providing a recommendation or referral, to a consortium partner of the NCETM, or to an NCETM CPD Standard holder. There is a charge for this service. We offer:

  • face-to-face delivery by NCETM staff, partners or associates;
  • support for organisations to directly deliver the CPD solutions available;
  • an advance ‘walk through’ either online or face to face by any of the groups above.

We hope professionals in all areas of mathematics education will find this new service useful.

What is a community and how do I join a community?

Communities (or Forums) are places where registered users of the NCETM can hold discussions and exchange ideas. There are different types of Community: find out more. If you would like to set up a community, please contact us.
