New podcast episode: what’s it like to be a Mastery Specialist?

Created on 11 December 2018 by ncetm_administrator

In our latest podcast episode, we talk to Leanne Casey. Leanne is a Deputy Head at St. Michael’s CE Primary in Bedworth near Coventry, and trained with her Maths Hub and the NCETM to become a Primary Mastery Specialist. Mastery Specialists undergo high-quality training, and become experts in the principles and practices of teaching for mastery in maths. They then operate across their local Maths Hub, and sometimes beyond, to run Work Groups and support schools wanting to adopt and embrace this approach.

In the podcast, Leanne talks about her training, her work introducing and embedding mastery at St. Michael’s and how her training as a Mastery Specialist has led to her working with other schools.

For more information about becoming a Mastery Specialist, contact your local Maths Hub.

You can also read more about teaching for mastery and its impact in our case studies.
