Our department consists of a group of experienced teachers who get quite good results – most of us do have similar expectations of our pupils and teach in the same sort of way – that’s quite lucky because we’ve never really discussed it. I’m pretty sure we will have an Ofsted this year – I know it is my job as Subject Leader to have all the documents in place and I don’t want to waste peoples’ time so I set myself the job of documenting some of our practice. I was dead lucky to find a ‘Numeracy across the Curriculum’ Policy on the internet so I downloaded that and changed the logos/titles so it looks personal to our school. We all had a look at this in the next department meeting and agreed that it described what happens most of the time. I’ve told all the other departments that the policy is on our internal drive where everyone can access it.
