We have been planning our mathematics in a cross-curricular way wherever possible for one year and I was recently approached by the LA consultant to lead a session at another mathematics cluster meeting. Our mathematics planning is led by developing Ma1 skills. The enthusiasm and progress in mathematics have increased in my Y5/6 class so I was able to speak with commitment about the impact of the change in our mathematics curriculum. As a result, several of the subject leaders from the cluster are coming to visit my school to see the mathematics in action and then go back to their own schools to trial the approach in their own classes.
