World Maths Day – 3 March 2010

Why not help to set a world record for the Largest Online Maths Competition? Last year’s entries involved two million students from 204 countries correctly answering 452 681 681 questions.

Registrations are open now with a new category for over 18s this year, inviting teachers, parents and grandparents to ‘Unite the World in Numbers!’

Check out the prizes and ambassadors and print a poster.

Or you could use the site information with your learners as the stimulus for a lesson. There are details from 225 countries including the capital city, national day, currency, language and population for each and the flags provide colourful resources for fractions, proportion, shape, measure and geometry.

flags: Colombia, Peru, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States of America
