Mathematical subject knowledge, or a weakness in, is a key issue in Primary teaching. However, it is often difficult to know where gaps in understanding lie, and even more difficult to know where to go next. NCETM have developed two Self Evaluation tools, focusing on 'Mathematics Content Knowledge' and 'Mathematics Specific Pedagogy'. Users can select the level or phase of teaching, as well as the area of mathematics, before rating their confidence in teaching a range of concepts. A summary and advice for next steps are provided.
