What Makes a Good Resource

Resource description:

This activity comprises a set of ideas for younger children in a primary SEN setting. Teachers will need to provide toy farm figures but the emphasis is on play with prompts.

Teacher comment:

This has worked well, engaging very young learners in SLD and MLD settings. The mathematics objectives are identified in the handouts but teachers may note others.

What I did:

The handouts describe the work. It is essential that play features largely in the work.

The activity was highly motivating. Opportunities present themselves for work in other curriculum areas and for development of talk.
