IWB Progression: Promethean and Smart

A staff development workshop on using digital technologies for a group of teachers

This session provides a basic toolkit of IWB skills for secondary mathematics teachers. It is recommended that before offering this session delegates should have undertaken the online free training offered by Promethean or Smart (so that they know basics of how to open and save a file and have a broad, but not very detailed idea of how the software works).

This workshop aimed to enable delegates to:

  • consider the range of handheld technology available to support mathematics;
  • become familiar with some ‘switch on and go’ style activities;
  • consider the classroom management issues when using handheld technologies.
