Starting with the mathematics

A staff development workshop on using digital technologies for a group of teachers

There is a great deal of software and hardware available for use in schools including:

  • Whiteboards - (SMART and Promethean)
  • Spreadsheets
  • Calculators
  • Visualisers
  • Dataloggers
  • Flip cameras
  • Interactive teaching programmes

One of the real challenges is to decide which of these tools can help teachers to teach aspects of mathematics, and which of these tools will help learners to solve particular problems in mathematics.
