The LSIS STEM Fund

The LSIS STEM Fund for £1 000 and £5 000 projects is now open for applications, details are on the LSIS website. The closing date for receipt of applications is 2 November.

Have you activated your LSIS account for 2011 and 2012? You can use the credit in your organisation’s LSIS account to cover the ‘event fee’ of many of the LSIS services, including:

  • conferences, workshops and events, typically charged at a standard rate of £150 per day and £75 per half-day event
  • development programmes and courses
  • ‘subscriptions’ to programmes that provide packages of support
  • ‘in-house’ (on your premises) versions of LSIS workshops and events charged at £1000 per day.
  • support for numeracy.

LSIS Support Subscription 2011 - 2012

Subscribe now to access a comprehensive package of support for your organisation from your Regional STEM Centre and national partners.

The LSIS STEM Support Subscription 2011-12 is available now through a 100% subsidy for Skills Funding Agency-funded providers using LSIS Accounts; alternatively organisations can subscribe for 2011-12 through a one-off fee. This package offers exclusive access to bid for STEM grants of up to £10 000; specific training, support and development enabling providers to raise the profile of STEM at strategic and organisational level; opportunities for support from STEM advisers / Regional STEM Centres; delegate places at regional STEM conferences, regional teaching and learning fairs, and the LSIS annual learning fair. 

How to subscribe
You will need to create a user account on the LSIS online booking system the first time you use it, and be logged in to register as your organisation’s key contact for the LSIS STEM Support Subscription 2011-12. Select the STEM Support Subscription 2011-12 for your region, and click Enrol Now. You will be able to confirm the details of your booking and add it to your shopping basket. To use your LSIS Account to secure a 100% subsidy for your subscription, you will need your organisation’s LSIS Account number.

This event will be based around the theme of 'STEM is all around us', and aim of the event is to raise awareness across all vocational areas that science, technology, engineering and maths form an important part of every curriculum area. Hi the link to find out more about BIg Bang in a Box Cumbria goes to Maths and Dyslexia Training - both great events but a bit confusing
