  • Haltwhistle Film Project "Inspiring people and communities through film"

Although this short film shows children aged 4 and 5, it is useful because of its work on language and creation of 3D shapes. A fascinating video that focuses on the conversations children have regarding shape which encourage the correct use of language and exploration of properties.

  • Shape and Space (Video)

The video ‘Shape and Space’ looks at games and activities which help children develop their understanding of shape and space.

  • Real-life Application of Mathematics (video) Oxford School Improvement, Oxford University

Andrew Jeffrey discusses how to strengthen the use and application of maths in school.

    3 min 54 seconds

  • National STEM Centre

An entire unedited Year 2 Shape lesson; but the starter of this lesson is a good example of children problem-solving using 2-D and 3-D shape; the teacher uses keywords and describes a shape which children have to name or draw.
