National Curriculum: Geometry - Properties of Shapes - Year 5 - Video

Created on 23 October 2013 by ncetm_administrator
Updated on 17 January 2014 by ncetm_administrator

This resource introduces the properties of 2-dimensional 3 and 4 sided shapes in an engaging way for children. Care needs to be taken when using this resource as it could reinforce the common misconception that there are four types of triangle: equilateral, isosceles, scalene and right angled.

A ‘Masterclass’ on polygons which includes some exciting ideas for teaching in the upper key stage 2 classroom.

(TV polygons) It’s got all the ingredients to grab interest from children: hands on, fun, investigative and has learning that leads somewhere useful!
