Angles

A selection of resources.

Click on the title of the resource to expand the section for a description. Clicking on the green button within the description will take you to the resource. A summary of the topics covered is included in the blue box within the description.

Angles (Math is Fun)

This webpage covers angle names, positive and negative angles, and labelling.

Topics: Angle names

Bearings (Defence Dynamics)

This is part of a set of resources which looks at how maths is used in the RAF. This link takes you to the synopsis page, a lesson plan, teachers notes and the resources which includes videos and worksheets can be accessed from the menu in the box on the left of the screen. The sheets are also available at the National STEM Centre.

Topics: Angles - Bearings

Angles Around a Point (Math is Fun)

This webpage covers angles around a point. There are questions and further links at the bottom of the page.

Topics: Angles (around a point)

Parallel Lines, and Pairs of Angles (Math is Fun)

This webpage covers parallel lines, including alternate, corresponding and co-interior angles. Some US terms are used. There are questions and further links at the bottom of the page. You could add to the learning by explaining how arrow symbols are used to show sets of parallel lines , a point missed on this page.

Topics: Angles (parallel lines)

Angles On One Side of A Straight Line (Math is Fun)

This webpage covers angles on a straight line. There are questions and further links at the bottom of the page.

Topics: Angles (straight line)

Exterior Angles of Polygons (Math is Fun)

DThis webpage covers the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon but unlike the page on interior angles it doesn’t extend this to work out the size of each of the exterior angles of a regular polygon. There are questions and further links at the bottom of the page.

Topics: Angles : Exterior angles of polygons

Properties of Regular Polygons (Math is Fun)

This webpage covers interior and exterior angles of regular polygons. There is a section at the bottom of the page which looks at calculating the area of regular polygons this is not strictly GCSE material but provides an interesting application of trigonometry and could be used to develop problem solving or proof. There are questions and further links at the bottom of the page.

Topics: Angles in a regular polygon plus a problem solving extension.

Interior Angles of Polygons (Math is Fun)

This webpage covers the interior angles of triangles and other polygons, including the general rule for the sum of the interior angles of a polygon, plus how to use this rule to find the size of each interior angle of a regular polygon. There are questions and further links at the bottom of the page.

Topics: Angles: Interior angles of polygons
