A Year 4 lesson on place value with decimal numbers

This lesson, on decimal place vale, is taught by Clare Christie who is the maths subject leader for the Ashley Down Schools Federation in Bristol, which comprises Ashley Down Primary School and Brunel Field Primary School. Clare is also co-Maths Hub Lead for Boolean Maths Hub. The lesson is in Brunel Field’s Year 4 class.

We strongly recommend that, while watching the videos, you refer to set of slides giving background pedagogical explanations relating to the lesson, these resources used by the teacher and these practice exercises given to pupils. The teacher resources are also
