This is an evaluation report of “Equal and family learning works.” The project is innovative in using family learning as a vehicle for developing basic skills in the work place. The project is also aimed at participants who are deemed to be hard to reach. The evaluation highlights the need for careful preparation with employers and using a variety of approaches to engage learners in the workplace. There is also information about the type of materials that learners found to be most useful, including the use of distance learning. The business benefits are also made clear along with some issues that organisations needs to consider if they are to be successful when using this model. The evaluation concluded with a useful list of Policy Implications.
