5 things to do this week
Each week this section of the Secondary Magazine suggests some things you might like to be thinking about over the course of the coming week. Contact us to share your ideas and thoughts on items you think we should feature.

1. Start thinking about applying for an NCETM small grant through the Grant Scheme 2008
The deadline for applications is 11th July. Read more here.

2. Read this article:
'Five good GCSEs for 80% of teenagers by 2020'

3. Did you take part in World Maths Day 2008?
How did it go? Post your comments and reply to those in the Maths Café.

4. Read the interactive version of the National Professional TDA and LLUK Standards
The NCETM has exemplified the TDA and LLUK Standards for teachers of mathematics. Discuss them with the members of your department. Are the teachers in your department all familiar with these standards and aware as to how they affect their own professional development?

5. Spring forward an hour
Don’t forget to put your clocks forward an hour on Sunday 30th March 01:00 GMT. Unfortunately you will lose an hour’s sleep but you will have the lighter mornings to look forward to as the year goes on.
