Professional Development activity - 2 hour learning module
Each week the Secondary Magazine will include a Professional Development activity. Available in PDF format, this series of learning modules is ideal for giving a focus to a department meeting or INSET session.
Each week we will publish a new learning module, which over the weeks will build up in to a shopping list of PD activities, so that you can pick and choose the materials that best suit your own development needs.

The first twelve modules will cover the following areas: Self-evaluation, Why do we teach Mathematics?, Mathematics learning script, Pathways and Options: KS3 to KS5, Mathematical vocabulary, Revision, Group Work, C/D Borderline, AfL: Using the lesson objective, Technology for learning, Questioning scripts, and AfL: Formative use of summative tests.

C/D Borderline
This week's module considers the challenges in working with students on the GCSE grade C/D borderline.
Overview
This module has been designed to give you a starting point to implement an intervention strategy for your borderline groups. It is not only aimed at C/D borderline, but focuses on the process needed to identify the groups of students who would benefit from a programme of support.

Towards the end of the module, there are some suggested materials and websites to use to help you plan and/or to use with students.
