The NCETM has published a series of online magazines, covering Early Years, Primary, Secondary, and Further Education. From 2012, Early Years is combined in a single Primary Magazine, and Further Education has been amalgamated with the Secondary Magazine.
- Early Years Magazine
The Early Years Magazine has features for those working in, or interested in, early years education. It included a topical focus, articles on research and planning, case studies, also investigating resources in action.
- Primary Magazine
The Primary Magazine is for those working in, or interested in, primary and early years education. It includes ideas for starter activities, a topical focus, and, in the past, It's in the News! which used topical news as a starting point for further mathematical study.
We have now organised all the articles from the Primary Magazine according to type. If you are looking for specific articles to support the teaching and learning of mathematics, this page
is for you.
- Secondary Magazine
The NCETM Secondary Magazine has a number of features of interest to those working in secondary education. These include ideas for the classroom, 5 things to do, the diary of a subject leader – and, in the past, It's in the News! which used topical news as a starting point for further mathematical study.
- FE Magazine
The NCETM published 37 editions of an online magazine for all mathematics and numeracy educators working in the Learning and Skills Sector. It contained resources to make your lessons - whether A-level, GCSE, Functional Maths or Numeracy - more memorable, and much more.
The Magazines are all available to download as PDF (Portable Document Format) documents.
RSS feeds are available from certain areas of the NCETM website, including News, the Early Years, Primary, Secondary and FE Magazines, Newsletters and Blogs. A feed is an easy way of keeping up to date with content which changes, or which is added to frequently – such as Magazines or News.
To subscribe to a feed, click on the orange RSS logo and confirm you want to subscribe to the feed. Now, when a new Magazine or Newsletter is published, or when content is updated, a link will appear in your feed reader the next time you check it.
You may want to use the RSS reader capabilites of your school Managed Learning Environment (MLE) to ensure your 'today' or 'home' page gets updated as soon as a new item appears.
