Interests : I spent the first 15 years of my career teaching in 11-18 schools in Hampshire, including time spent as a Head of Department and as an AST. I was then privileged to teach on MA and PGCE programmes at the University of Chichester as well as leading CPD courses in collaboration with Local Authorities and other development work. Moving to MEI in 2012 I took on the role of KS4 Extension and Enrichment coordinator, working mainly with the FMSP Area Coordinators to provide a suite of high quality CPD courses. I am currently the NCETM Director for Secondary.

I am interested in how we can best develop a deep and connected understanding for students so that they are able to use and build upon their mathematical knowledge. Increasingly I have become concerned at the inequity of outcomes for our young people. I believe that teachers having opportunities to reflect on teaching approaches with their department is key to improving practice and I am keen to find ways to support these developments.
