Interests : I joined the NCETM as Regional Lead in June 2018. There are two key aspects to my Regional Lead role:

-to act as the principal NCETM link to the Maths Hub leadership and management teams in the Northern region, supporting, equipping and enabling them to fulfil their role.

-to work with key regional stakeholders, and representatives of national government programmes supporting mathematics and STEM more widely, to develop and support the implementation of a coherent strategy for mathematics school improvement in the region.

I have a passion for mathematics and have over 20 years of experience both in the classroom and as an advisor, during which time I have worked across all phases. I particularly enjoyed working with teachers, offering strategies to improve the quality of teaching. I have written and delivered training courses independently and for an awarding body as well as producing pedagogy enhancement programmes for teacher training courses.

I currently sit on the ATM's General council and chair the East Midlands joint ATM/MA branch as well as being a member of NAMA. I believe that it is vital to raise the profile of mathematics nationally in order to ensure that it is an accessible subject for all.
