Interests : I'm much more interested in helping students to understand the maths than I am in helping them to get through it. I'm thinking a lot about what image students have of different mathematical concepts and how we can help them to develop these images.
I'm also very interested in how we can encourage students to discuss their maths and to think and work creatively and mathematically within the classroom.

South West Teachers' Community

Towards Level 3 Mathematics: An ACME Discussion
The Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education (ACME) recently launched a paper designed to provoke discussion on the future of post-16 mathematics. This community aims to stimulate discussion on the paper and to collect your views on the proposals. ACME then intends to digest those views with the intention of producing a position statement in the spring 2010 on the issue of Level 3 mathematics.
