This video shows a boiled down version of a lesson given to a Year 6 class at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Guildford.

The teacher, Miss Jiao, from Shanghai, spent a fortnight at the school as part of the 2016-2017 England-China exchange under the Maths Hubs programme.

The main teaching in the lesson is devoted to comparing the value of fractions with the same denominators.
