New national curriculum
Resources and information to help you prepare for the new national curriculum
A draft of the new national curriculum will be published in autumn 2026, for schools to review and respond to. During the consultation period, the NCETM will explain key changes and important messages, map draft plans against current practice, and support schools to understand the proposals.
From 2027, when the new national curriculum is published, support and resources will gradually be made available, enabling schools to update classroom materials and revise professional development. This will enable schools to prepare to implement the new curriculum with confidence, using trusted guidance and materials.
Throughout the transition to the new national curriculum, the NCETM and Maths Hubs will provide support for schools, and schools are strongly advised to contact their local Maths Hub as soon as possible to work with them during the transition period.
This webpage will be your one-stop-shop for all information, recommended resources and guidance about the new national curriculum.
